Task 03:Sequential Art (Digital Triptych)
Story
Act 1
On a warm and peaceful afternoon, Miya and Momo were lying together on a soft grassy field, enjoying a relaxing nap. The sunlight felt cozy on their fur, and a gentle breeze brushed lightly over them. Miya slept soundly with her angel halo resting beside her, while Momo curled up at her side, both of them feeling calm and happy.
But suddenly, the weather changed. A cold wind swept across the field, and the temperature dropped quickly. Miya felt an unexpected chill and let out a loud sneeze — “Achoo!” The sudden noise startled Momo awake. Confused, Momo looked around, then noticed Miya trembling because of the cold.
Act 2
Seeing Miya shivering, Momo became worried. It wanted to help Miya but didn’t know what to do at first. It looked around the grass field, yet there was nothing nearby that could be used to keep Miya warm.
Just then, something shiny caught Momo’s attention — Miya’s angel halo. The golden ring glowed with a soft magical light, as if it contained some kind of special power. Momo’s eyes brightened with a new idea. Maybe the halo could help!
Momo picked up the angel halo and placed it on its own ears. A magical and warm light flowed out from the halo. In just a moment, its ears magically grew larger — like a warm and fluffy blanket!
Act 3
Momo carefully used its newly enlarged ear to cover Miya. The warmth spread quickly and stopped Miya’s trembling. She settled back into sleep again, a sweet smile forming on her face. She felt safe and warm.
Miya snuggled closer to Momo, and soon both of them drifted into a cozy dream once more. Even though the wind continued blowing outside, the two adorable friends enjoyed a peaceful nap together — a wonderful afternoon filled with comfort and happiness.

Revisions
During the creation of my three-panel comic, I paid special attention to the rendering of shadows on the characters. I ensured that the lighting direction remained consistent across all panels and continuously adjusted the shadow shapes according to the characters’ changing poses. This made the visuals feel more dynamic and three-dimensional.
To improve storytelling clarity, I made multiple revisions to the panels. I added a small transitional panel to show the magical moment when Momo’s ears transform. The enlarged ears breaking through the panel border emphasize the sudden growth, while the glowing visual effects highlight the activation of magic.
To enhance the soft and fluffy texture of the grass, I incorporated texture elements and applied a rough edge treatment to each panel. I also added small decorative elements such as flowers, stars, and clouds, making the overall composition richer and more visually engaging.
Feedback
Throughout the review and reflection process, I realized that panel pacing and emotional rhythm are essential in sequential art. By optimizing the transitions between panels, the story became easier to follow and more expressive. I also improved in the use of texture and lighting to enhance the storytelling atmosphere. This project allowed me to understand how small visual adjustments can significantly elevate the narrative effectiveness of a comic.
