Digital Photography And Imaging - PROJECT 2

 PROJECT 2B - DOUBLE EXPOSURE

PROJECT 2B: PHOTO IMAGING POSTER DESIGN

TITLE:

Monkey faucet

DESCRIPTION:

I combined the faucet with my monkey doll by replacing the water flow with the doll itself. The idea came from their similar vertical shape, and I imagined the monkey “pouring out” like water. To make the scene look more realistic, I also created a shadow beneath the faucet and applied Gaussian Blur to soften the edges. This helps the shadow blend naturally with the background and makes the overall composition look more convincing and visually balanced.

Reflective Writing

Through Project 2, I gradually became more confident in digital imaging and photo manipulation.
At the beginning, I focused on learning the core Photoshop skills such as paths, masking, layering, and blending modes. These techniques helped me cut out subjects more cleanly and combine different images in a more controlled way.

As the project progressed, I started paying more attention to realism.Exercises like matching lighting, using adjustment layers, and applying filters made me realise that small details matter a lot. Adding shadows and using Gaussian Blur to soften edges helped my compositions look more natural and convincing.I also explored more creative directions through double exposure and photo manipulation tasks. These practices pushed me to think beyond “normal” photography and try to create more imaginative results. At the same time, learning photography basics and product shooting helped me understand that good photos start from good lighting and clear composition, not only Photoshop editing.

By Week 8, when it became an independent learning week, I focused on refining my editing and organizing my progress into slides for submission.
Overall, this project helped me connect technical skills with creative thinking. It also made me more independent when developing ideas and improving my work step by step.
