Digital Photography And Imaging - Week 3
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGING - Week 3
October 08, 2025
Lectures:
This week, Mr. Fauzi taught us about three main Photoshop tools: Lasso Tool, Pen Tool, and Layering. He said these tools are important for making selections and creating digital collages.
The Lasso Tool lets us draw and select shapes freely. It has three types: normal, polygonal, and magnetic.Using a drawing tablet makes it easier to trace and select areas smoothly.
The Pen Tool helps to create clean paths and shapes with anchor points.Fewer points make smoother lines. It is useful for cutting, tracing, and making precise selections.
Layers work like transparent sheets stacked together. Each layer can be edited without changing others. This helps us adjust images safely and combine them into one final design.
Tutorial:
We learned how to use blending modes, paths, masking, and layering in Photoshop.Mr. Fauzi showed how to hide or reveal image parts with masks and how to combine textures smoothly. He also introduced Project 1B: Digital Collage, which continues from our physical collage project.Demo video link:
We reviewed Project 1A (Physical Collage) and started Project 1B (Digital Collage). We used the given images to make three digital collages in Photoshop on an A4 vertical canvas. Each collage had a different layout and story. After finishing, we saved them for web and submitted the file in Google Classroom.
I created three digital collages using the provided images. Each one had a different layout and theme.During the process, I tried to make the composition more balanced and the focal point clearer. In the end, Mr. Fauzi helped me choose one collage as the final outcome.
