Lectures 

This was the first class, and the teacher introduced the overall course plan and showed us some works. He also told us to prepare collage materials for the next class. I am really looking forward to what we will learn next time.

The first thing that caught my eye in this work was the many complex elements. The piled-up signs, road marks, and advertisements are very colorful and rich. The whole piece uses red to create its atmosphere. In the photo, the main subject is simply sitting in a shopping cart, but the red circle that covers the face gives it a strange yet fitting mood. To me, it expresses a feeling of pressure and anxiety, like “living in a modern city, surrounded by endless information.”

I think this work is very interesting, and the combination of elements is quite unusual. The whisk and the swirling atmosphere in the sky are perfectly merged, making it look as if the Earth might just be a bowl of cake batter.

I think this poster of The Truman Show left a deep impression on me. It combines two film shots, making the main character step out of his own face, which creates a strong visual impact and also symbolizes the film’s theme and story. The red title against the blue sky and white clouds is striking and quickly catches attention. At the same time, the word “Truman” is covered by the face, while “Show” overlaps with the face, which not only adds a sense of depth and dimension but also metaphorically reflects Truman’s fate.
